Prof. Witold Owczarek, head of the Department of Dermatology at the Defense Ministry's Military Medical Institute in Warsaw, in an interview with Medexpress on the occasion of World Atopic Dermatitis Day.

What is atopic dermatitis (AD)?

It is a disease in which genetic factors lead to immunological abnormalities that translate into the phenotype, or clinical picture. They are usually accompanied by severe pruritus, which significantly impairs patients' quality of life, causing insomnia, among other things.
