Oncology patient organizations appeal to the President of the European Commission on the KPO issue

The need to create space for the renegotiation of milestones related to the implementation of the National Oncology Network project is the main demand of the letter sent by the President of the Board of Directors of the National Federation of Oncology Dorota Korycinska to the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. According to the signatory of the appeal, changes to the National Reconstruction Plan in the part related to the implementation of coordinated oncology care are necessary, as the introduction of the current version of the NSO poses a significant risk to millions of patients who benefit from oncology diagnosis and treatment.
Malignant tumors are the most common cause of death among adult Polish women and men. Epidemiological forecasts indicate that one in four Polish citizens will develop cancer, and one in five will die from the disease.
