Patient organizations have formed the Coalition for Health Equity. They want to fight health inequality
Epidemiological data indicate that life expectancy in Poland, depending on, among other things, place of residence, level of education, amount and source of income, or gender, can vary by up to a dozen years. Only appropriate systemic solutions can help reduce health inequalities. Recognizing this need, patient organizations from across Poland have established the Coalition for Health Equity. The goal of the initiative is to work together to address inequalities affecting the health of Polish women and men.
The Coalition for Health Equity is a joint initiative of patient organizations from different therapeutic areas. Being in constant contact with patients, representatives of the various organizations recognize a number of daily challenges and difficulties faced by patients, including in areas directly related to the occurrence of inequalities, such as transportation exclusion. According to Coalition members, health inequalities are killing on a massive scale and urgent action must be taken to reduce them.
