- Cardiovascular diseases are a very serious problem, not only in Poland, but throughout the European Union. In Poland, in people under 65, these diseases are still responsible for the largest number of deaths. We have some progress, as life expectancy has lengthened over the past two decades. In many cases, we can already offer therapy to those patients for whom there was no therapy until recently," Prof. Przemysław Mitkowski, former president of the Polish Cardiac Society, told Medexpress in an interview during the Economic Forum in Karpacz.
