The Central Statistical Office has published a report on the life expectancy of Poles and listed the main causes of death.
In 2023, the leading causes of death in Poland were cardiovascular diseases, cancers and respiratory diseases. Cardiovascular diseases accounted for 36% of all deaths, cancer nearly 24%, and respiratory diseases 6.7%. Deaths due to external causes, such as accidents and injuries, accounted for 4.5% of all deaths.
