Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic, recurrent inflammatory skin disease characterized by morphological heterogeneity, including symptoms, distribution and severity, time course, and quality of life. Often, this disease is accompanied by other diseases, and the response to treatment is also very different.
The heterogeneity of AD contributes to challenges in the diagnosis and assessment of disease activity and the selection of pharmacotherapy.
In response to these challenges, an innovative system for standardizing the assessment and course of AD and treatment optimization was developed. The DESCRIBE-AD classification proposed by R.
