Previous research by scientists from Johns Hopkins Medicine found that treatment with psilocybin relieved symptoms of major depressive disorder in adults for up to a month. Now, the results of a follow-up study indicate that psychotherapy-assisted treatment with psilocybin produces significant antidepressant effects that may last for over a year in some patients.
